Abstract

"Edge" piece on Richard and Ellen Maringione of Portland, owners of Mad Science of Maine, a Portland company that explains rudimentary scientific principles to children in kindergarten through middle school, through games and activities. Through Mad Science, a worldwide franchise based in Montreal, Richard and his crew of five assistants try to put the fizz back in physics at after-school programs and private birthday parties.
