Abstract
Victoria Gannon profiles Paul Charlie Barry's Congress Square Gallery and Mall, which opened last August, next to Paul's Food Center on Portland's Congress Street. Barry rents space in his gallery to 31 artists at $50 a month. Former art teacher Joanne Hartford, objecting to Barry's overly liberal guidelines, moved out of the gallery when he took in and hung a stained-glass angel with an erection.
