Abstract

"Edge" piece on a new method of advertising by Portland-area bands. They are posting and distributing creative and sometimes illegal fliers to promote their shows. Recently, the bands Eggbot and Horror posted fliers advertising a midnight yard sale at Geno's, the Portland venue where they were being presented that night, but there was no yard sale. Nevertheless, many would-be yard-salers paid the cover charge and stayed. Other local bands creating advertising fliers include Sex Sells and A Giant Robot.
