Abstract

"Politics and Other Mistakes" piece on John Hathaway of Kennebunkport who made millions in real estate development in Alabama and was an unsuccessful Maine candidate in the Republican primary race for the U.S. Senate in 1996, which was won by U.S. senator Susan Collins. Some political observers expect Hathaway to challenge Peter Cianchette and other Republican hopefuls in the gubernatorial primary race.
