Abstract
"City" piece on Deborah Willette, a former Portland District Court clerk convicted of stealing over $4,000 in court fees. Willette reported to the Cumberland County Jail on Jan. 18 to begin serving a 40-day sentence, and was released six days later after Cumberland County Superior Court justice Robert Crowley granted a temporary reprieve, until Jan. 30, pending a motion for an appeal. At the same time, Crowley denied Willette's motion for acquittal.
