Abstract
The Presumpscot River flows nearly 25 miles from Sebago Lake to Casco Bay, and drains 650 square miles on which some 65,000 people live. The river during the 1970s was extremely polluted, which might be one of the reasons the river is relatively undeveloped today. Two groups, the Presumpscot River Watch and Friends of the Presumpscot, are working to collect scientific data on the river and to try and protect it from further pollution. Details.
