Abstract

"City" piece on the April 2002 issue of "Face Magazine." Billed as "The CD (compact disc) Roundup: The Review Issue," Face charged artists $300 for reviews, which were all put together as the cover story, and a track on the magazine's promotional CD, which was distributed last weekend at NEMO, a music industry conference in Boston. Paul Woodfin, publisher and editor of the Southwest Harbor, Maine-based publication, also offered each band a quarter-page ad, which typically costs $75. Twelve of the bands took up the ad offer.
