Abstract

"City" piece on "Yes Books," a used-book business that will, after 12 years at its present location, move from its present location on Portland's Danforth Street to 510 Congress Street. Owner Pat Murphy said his landlord, J. B. Brown and Sons, is turning the Danforth Street location into office space for Via, a marketing and design company that currently occupies part of the building. From the late 1980s through the mid 1990s, the Danforth Street location served as a home to numerous artists, musicians and independent businesses that have since relocated or disappeared.
