Abstract

"Cop beat" piece on a reporters' workshop held at Bates College in Lewiston on May 18 sponsored by the Maine Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Maine Association of Broadcasters. Assistant Attorney General Charles Leadbetter and Portland media attorney Sigmund D. Schutz led a panel at the workshop on how to work with police departments. With special focus on Maine's Freedom of Access Law as it applies to police records.
