Abstract

"Edge" piece on the Eastern Wrestling Alliance (EWA). Based in Portland, the EWA is one of New England's many independent professional wrestling federations. Scott King, 31, and Steve Rand, 30, who have each spent more than a decade in the ring, bought the struggling league in August 2000, and have since added a third partner, Brian Mailhot, 26. The EWA has about 25 wrestlers, including two women, and puts on two to four shows per month.
