Abstract
"City" piece on state representative Michael Quint, D-Portland, who is running against Ethan Strimling in the June 11 primary to be the Democratic candidate for Portland's District 28 Senate seat. It was recently reported that Quint filed for bankruptcy in 1997 and that he missed more legislative votes than any of his local House colleagues between December 2000 and June 2001. Now Quint is being accused of lying about being a University of Southern Maine graduate as he asserts in his campaign literature. Several of Quint's supporters, including Morgen D'Arc, an independent running for Cumberland County register of deeds, insist that the colleges they went to don't have records to prove they graduated, and they, too, can't find their diplomas.
