Abstract
"City" piece on a law being considered by Portland's city councilors that would make it illegal to feed pigeons in the city. The proposed amendment prohibits the feeding of any type of wildlife in downtown Portland. Many downtown businesses have complained that birds, mostly pigeons, are flocking to their stores in search of food. Rena Masten, executive director of Portland's Downtown District, said it's becoming a health hazard to pedestrians and business owners as well as an architectural nightmare.
