Abstract
Independent gubernatorial candidate Jonathan Carter garnered 26 percent of the vote in the Portland precint covering Peaks, Great Diamond, Little Diamond and Cushing islands, and netted 17 percent of the vote for Portland's peninsula. Carter finished ahead of independent Angus King and Republican Susan Collins in three precints.
