Abstract

"Newsreal" piece on the city of Auburn's investment in derivatives, which are high-risk instruments linked to the value of underlying assets or interest rates. A September 29, 1994, Casco Bay Weekly article on derivatives discussed former Auburn financial manager Bill Lundrigan, who resigned on December 5 as news surfaced about a California county's bankruptcy due to its investment in derivatives.
