Abstract

Linda Abromson, who chairs the committee overseeing the renovation of Portland City Hall Auditorium, said that the hall, even with scaled down renovations, will be very good. The committee decided to scale down the project after the lowest bid came in $2 million over budget. The city council on May 8 approved a $7.2 million budget, and the auditorium is expected to reopen in December 1996.
