Abstract

The Portland Public Library has plans to link the library's computerized card catalog to the University of Maine System's URSUS catalog of one million titles. After the initial connection, the library's computerized indexes would be hooked into the network, and patron access would be provided by increasing the number of terminals in the library and installing modems to allow people to access the system from their own computers.
