Abstract

"Politics & Other Mistakes" piece on U.S. senator Olympia Snowe's feelings about the Federal Base Closure and Realignment Commission. Snowe claimed the commission was politically motivated four years ago when it called for closing Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, but had a different opinion when it decided the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery should remain open. With a piece on Gov. King's threat to veto the state budget.
