Abstract
"The Talk of Maine" piece on the controversial fingerprinting of teachers. Five years ago, when the Maine Legislature passed a law mandating that all school personnel be fingerprinted to root out those with child abuse records, veteran teachers across the state condemned the measure as an invasion of privacy. Since then, an effort to repeal the law has been quashed with a gubernatorial veto, but the controversy surrounding the legislation still simmers.
