Abstract

Article on Holt House, home of the Blue Hill Historical Society in Blue Hill. The Federal mansion was built in 1815 by Jeremiah Holt, who made a fortune in lumber, shipping and real estate. Exhibits at the Holt House include paintings, photographs, and navigational instruments from the more than 100 schooners, brigs, and barks built in town yards between 1792 and 1882.
