Abstract
Many residents of northern Aroostook County have become concerned about the disappearance of the French language, and a growing movement to preserve the Acadian culture is finding support from both the National Park Service and the Maine Department of Education. The concern has prompted the formation of the Committee to Save Our French and Le Club Francais. The National Park Service has been charged with implementing the Maine Acadian Culture Preservation Act of 1990, designed to preserve the state's Franco heritage. Details.
