Abstract
"Cover Story" piece on Old Orchard Beach in November. In July, the local population swells from 8,000 to 100,000. But by November, Old Orchard Beach resembles a ghost town. Even its 475-foot-long pier is deserted, at least until next summer, when it will once again become the focal point of the town's three-month long summer beach party.
