Abstract

Article on the Thomas School of Dance in Bangor, which was owned and operated by Polly Thomas and produced Rockettes for New York's Radio City Music Hall and any number of contestants for Miss Maine. The school offered ballroom, ballet, tap and jazz dance and was also somewhat of a finishing school, teaching students how to be perfect guests, how to smile and act, and the concept of "noblesse oblige."
