Abstract
The Poland Spring Bottling Company recently spent $2.5 million to renovate both its 1904 Spring House and an adjacent building that served as an early bottling plant. The latter has been turned into a small museum of Poland Spring memorabilia. The Spring House, decorated with Italian marble, is now open to the public. In 1845, the Rickers family of innkeepers first began to promote their spring water. Today the company is the largest seller of bottled water in the United States.
