Abstract
Profiles of five of Maine's top abstract artists: Frederick Lynch, a formal abstract painter from Saco and a teacher at the University of Southern Maine; Grace DeGennaro, a symbolist abstract painter with a studio in the old Cabot Mill in Brunswick; John Walker, an expressionist with a home in South Bristol; William Manning, a Portland resident who paints in the Modernist tradition; and Alison Hildreth of Falmouth, who paints obscure images that defy rationality.
