An article on the growing problem of obesity in Maine, which has one of the highest percentages of fat adults--three out of five--in the country. Thirty six percent of children entering kindergarten in 2002 were overweight or obese. In the past 20 years, calorie consumption has risen and daily activity levels have decreased. With details on what the Maine Bureau of Health, its director Dr. Dora Ann Mills, and others are doing to help counteract the problem.
