Abstract

"North by East" piece on Poland Regional High School, which now requires every member of the senior class to fill out and submit an application to a college, university, or trade school. Derek Pierce, principal, said that every student who has applied has gotten into at least one school. Pierce emphasizes that the new requirement doesn't mean that the school has a college crisis among graduating seniors. Last spring, 86 percent of the Class of 2003 was heading toward some form of post-secondary education.
