    Abstract

    "North by East" piece on Fryeburg potato grower Don Thibodeau, who with his two partners has a grant from the Maine Technology Institute in Gardiner so that Maine Distilleries LLC can work out marketing strategies for selling vodka made from potatoes. Less than 2 percent of vodka is made from potatoes. Potatoes give vodka a smooth taste and sweet flavor.
