Abstract

"North by East" piece reporting on the popularity of the state's new loon conservation license plate, even though it costs an extra $20 over the usual $22 registration fee. Motor vehicle registry offices sent out 20,000 pairs of plates in the first month of the loon plates appearance. Its popularity is attributed to dislike of lobster plate and the fact that have the extra $20 goes to support wildlife programs in state.
