Abstract

Brief article profiles Jayne Greer Hurley, a Sanford native and graduate of the University of Maine. Hurley was the researcher with the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) in Washington, D.C. who last Spring brought the nation's attention to the cholesterol content of movie popcorn. Her research caused the major movie chains to switch from fat-laden coconut oil to corn or canola oil for popping.
