Abstract

"I Remember" piece by Philip N. Searles, who recalls boyhood summers in the late 1920s and 1930s spent at West Quoddy Head, where his grandfather was head lighthouse keeper. Searles talks of shipwrecks, treasure hunts, Prohibition, and a ride on an aircraft carrier bringing President Franklin Roosevelt to his summer home at Campobello.
