Abstract
"Along the Waterfront" piece reporting that Brian Doyle, a sailcloth engineer, has teamed up with sailmaker Nat Wilson, of East Boothbay, to develop a new custom sailcloth for tall ships, classic yachts, and cruise boats. The new material is said to be light weight, easily handled, and quiet. Made of woven polyester plastic, the cloth has been named Oceanus. The material will soon be undergoing sea trials on some tall ships and cruising boats served by Wilson.
