Abstract

"I Remember" column describing a voyage to Hardhead Island, near Deer Isle, by three boys in the summer of 1969. Inspired by the Apollo II landing on the moon, the boys sailed to the island, landed on its inhospitable shore, and triumphantly planted a homemade flag by the landing area.
