The state influenced a wealth of diverse artists, including Andrew Wyeth, William Kienbusch, Beverly Hallam, Rockwell Kent, Waldo Pierce, Reuben Tam, Karl Schrag, John Heliker, Edward Betts, David von Schlegell, John Laurent, Paul Wescott, Fairfield Porter, Willard Cummings, Henry Varnum Poor, Sydney Simon, Charles Cutler, Ashley Bryan, Frank Hannabe, William Thon, Denny Winters, Carroll Thayer Berry, and Mildred Burrage.
