Abstract
"Along the Waterfront" piece on 16 Mount View High School students in Thorndike who built three Swampscott dories in the unused school shop under the guidance of science teacher and boatbuilder David Estes of Belfast. Estes and another teacher created a new course called Marine Technology and Design. One of the dories was built in a strictly traditional fashion.
