Abstract

"Along the Waterfront" piece on the South Portland Yacht Club's revival of the classic little racing boats called Lightnings, which had declined as a one-design racing class. The Centerboard purchased four used fiberglass models and this summer held a regatta that drew about a dozen Lightnings from around the Northeast.
