Abstract

An article on surf fishing at Popham Beach. In the fall, when schools of striped bass begin to migrate back through Maine waters to winter farther south, catching a sixty-inch fish is not uncommon. Most Popham fishermen seem to practice catch and release. The record for a Maine-caught striper is 67 pounds.
