Abstract
"Along the Waterfront" piece on Vinalhaven artist Buck Smith's 30-foot sloop-rigged scow, Banjo, a replica of a type that carried people and cargo along the coast from the earliest days of settlement. Smith built the scow 14 years ago to ferry goods and people from the mainland to Green Island, where he lives with his family.
