Abstract

An article on a cottage built on a point on Long Lake by Lynn Harrison and architect Stephen Blatt of Portland, after the original cottage burned soon after she bought it. The new home is year-round and fits the location so well that it won an award for design excellence last year from the Maine Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The house incorporates a variety of time-honored cottage-design features and looks as though it has been in the spot for years.
