Abstract
Article on the midcoast town of Friendship, located at the tip of a peninsula south of Waldoboro on Muscongus Bay. The community's harbor is home to one of the state's largest lobster fleets, with most residents earning their living as lobstermen, shrimpers, urchin divers, or clammers. Those who don't fish earn their living catering to supplying the needs of the fishermen and their families. Tourists are a rarity, except for a handful of adventurers who come to Friendship's Outsider Inn. The film "Casper," which debuted this summer, is set in Friendship, but was actually filmed in Camden.
