Abstract

"North by East" piece about the Lemon Sale held by Reny's department stores each February to get rid retail duds acquired by the 15-store chain over the year. Robert Reny, Jr., says the Lemon Sale, has a 21-year history at the stores. He admits that the sale has some "pretty horrendous things." Its not sold during the Lemon Sale, are put Reny's Warehouse Sale, which is held each summer in Damariscotta. The last resort is to turn the duds over to Salvation Army.
