Abstract
Profile of Yasuo Kuniyoshi, a Japanese American painter who worked in Ogunquit from 1918 to 1924. His early works offer a unique Eastern interpretation of the Maine landscape, its icons and its people. It was in Ogunquit that Kuniyoshi wed Katherine Schmidt in 1919. Although he struggled with depression and monetary woes while there, his Ogunquit years were for the most part happy and productive. Details.
