Abstract
Profile of Frances Webb Stratton, owner of the John E. and Walter D. Webb Museum of Vintage Fashion in Island Falls, twenty miles south of Houlton. Among the thousands of items exhibited are two elaborately trimmed, high-collared bodices from the 1900s, and an embroidered silk-satin gown. The museum houses not only dresses, but also shoes, hats, gloves, handkerchiefs, and jewelry from the past. Stratton, and Island Falls native, began collecting old clothing early on in her life.
