Abstract

"North by East" piece featuring an interview in question-and-answer format with Sally Whitten, who has cleaned more than 800 veterans' graves at Fryeburg's two dozen cemeteries. Whitten took on the project after accompanying Tommy Hutchins while he was placing flags on veterans' graves for Memorial Day. Whitten's work has resulted in grant money for cemetery signs and has sparked much local interest.
