Abstract
"Down East Bookshelf" piece on "All Fishermen Are Liars: True Tales from the Dry Dock Bar," by Linda Greenlaw. All the settings and characters in the book are real. Greenlaw met her old friend and mentor, Alden Leeman, at the Dry Dock bar in Portland, setting the framework of the book and its spine-tingling stories. Also noted: "The Cows Are Out! Two Decades on a Maine Dairy Farm," by Trudy Chambers Price; "Ralph Stanley: Tales of a Maine Boatbuilder," by Ralph Stanley; and "In the Summer of Cecily," by Nan Lincoln.
