Abstract
Maine's poet laureate Baron Wormser describes why he and his wife live in Hallowell, a pictureseque town on the Kennebec River that values diversity, is home to the long-standing Slates restaurant, and has a sense of conviviality. A large land preserve known as Vaughan Woods features stone bridges from the nineteenth century. If "Bohemian" were a Maine word, it would fit the town of Hallowell.
