Abstract
Round Pond, a village in Bristol on a protected harbor, has a legendary Fourth of July parade, which includes Tacky Tourists, lawnmower Shriners, cross-dressers, and floats skewering politicians and fads. Kathy Mack and Kathy Moses helped found the parade, which was a free-for-all from the start, after the death of longtime organizer Carrol Hanna. The parade is now a huge tourist attraction. The village has been spared a lot of new development and has only one inn. With a description of exploring the town.
