Abstract

In the Medomak High School greenhouse, Waldoboro students are raising 160 varieties of once-common vegetables, many unique to Maine, that are now rarely eaten. They trade seeds with gardeners, many of whom have raised particular varieties in their families for generations and fear that younger generations won't show the same interest in gardening.
