    Abstract

    "North by East" piece on efforts to eradicate or control some two dozen non-native invasive plant species at Acadia National Park, including purple loosestrife, lupine, honeysuckle shrubs, and Japanese barberry. There was some public protest when park workers cut down a stand of lupine along Park Loop Road.
