Abstract
"What's in a Picture?" piece on Pi Beta Phi sorority sisters at the University of Maine in Orono. In 1961, 13 sorority sisters put a Maine twist on the phone booth-cramming craze by climbing into a hollow tree. Later 15 Lambda Chi brothers accomplished the same feat. The tree was tucked in a wood near Hancock Hall and was popular with couples as a romantic spot. When it was cut down, pieces of the tree were made available to alumni.
