Abstract

Ice fishing on Millinocket Lake, south of Baxter State Park, is a frigid sport, but one that attracts a sociable crowd. A group of some 30 ice houses on the lake known as "The Village" comprises a tight-knit group of friends, many of whom have been coming to fish for years. They are bringing up the next generation behind them.
